In ‘Sura’ Vijay plays a young man who wants to change the society. Unlike the other youth of today Vijay doesn’t shy away from taking responsibilities upfront in order to good to his society. He even tries politics to achieve his ambitions. But even that disappoints Vijay and the he fights the enemies single handedly much like a Shark.

Vijay like the MGR in Padagotti gets friendly with fishermen folks and begins his game. He is like a God to the fishing hamlets. He is fondly called Sura. When all are happy comes a silent tsunami in the form of smuggler big wig like Velu Naiker in Nayagan. He plans to curb the fishing hamlet lands in order to run his business smoothly. He tries to cheat the poor fishermen folk by saying that a big factory is going to come up in that area and promises to give lands in compensation. The news goes to Sura that these poor fishermen have been cheated. Now Vijay starts the hunting and the fisherman gets their justice, peace and happiness.

As expected the film is to have Vijay fans on a high for long time with the by line of Vijay’s character is 'Samadhanama poga naan pura illadaa...Sura' which, if roughly translated, means 'I am not a dove to prefer peace, I am a shark". Vijay fans are very happy as he utters enough punch dialogues to outline his future moves on and off screen. Vijay is rocking in the dance sequences. There are racy stunt scenes where Vijay fights with four villains which will bring you to the edge of your seat. Most of the stunt scenes have been shot in mid sea and in spite of his sea sickness, Vijay has excelled in the stunts scenes. The Telugu Magadheera villain poses a big challenge for Vijay in Sura. There are strong dialogues in this film which might provoke the politicians.

The hottest Kollywood babe Tamannah pairs Vijay. She dons the role of a bubbly college girl and is the love interest of Vijay. She consolidated her position in the top league after 'Paiyaa'.

Vadivelu takes care of the comedy and the comic portions are rocking to the core. VV combination workes out great once again after ‘Pokkiri’ and 'Villu'.

Kudos to M. S. Prabhu and N. K. Ekambaram for Cinematography. The beauty of Pudhucherry, Cuddalore, Thoothukudi and Kochi coastlines are visual treats. But some songs were shot overseas keeping with the tradition of Kollywood.

Fight master Kanal Kannan and stuntmen from Bangkok did stunning job with some hair raising action scenes.

The songs are already on air. Music is by Mani Sharma. ‘Sura’ has 6 songs and they cater to each and every category of the audience. All songs except one are penned by Kabilan. Na. Muthukumar has written one song. The songs are another plus for the film and fit for the super hero image of Vijay.

Director S.P. Rajkumar did his job well by avoiding any draggy scenes.Though it has been rumored that the film Sura which has Vijay in the lead is the remake of the Malayalam film Chotta Mumbai, the fact is that director S P Rajkumar has taken only one portion for the inspiration touch.

Sun Pictures released 'Sura' worldwide in 600 screens

For producer Sangili Murugan'Sura' will be Vijay’s next big hit after 'Kadhalukku Mariyadhai' movie.
